I am nearing the end of my "oh I'll totally MAKE my sister's birthday presents" projects...ughhh why is it that when you see furniture it is so easy to say " I can totally paint that!" THEN...when you get home you do all this research...clicking through blogs and before and afters..making painting and sanding look sooooo easy...NEVER mentioning the slight inhalation of toxins and potential loss of eye sight whilst not wearing goggles...NO ONE mentions how freaking long it takes...and how much patience is necessary to WAIT while it dries before you re-coat...ANYWAY...needless to say...one project is probably easier that 8 projects...but I always think I am totally capable of completing a full kitchen/bedroom in one weekend..
Is it bad that my Sister's gifts turned out better then mine did? I guess practice makes perfect...I promise to show you guys the end result...believe me....I WILL be PLASTERING them all over the web..let's face it...when you work hard on something you want people to see it...haha I could lie and say I enjoy it...but I didn't (It's 110 degrees here people....) .and I will be explaining all the stuff that  those crafty divas who are whipping buffets and dining sets up in one day NEVER tell you...I will also tell you what NOT to do..or buy...or say while doing your project haha
I'm really happy the hubby was not here this weekend...I really needed to go through this alone...

P.S. Don't forget to link up your finds my thrifting and crafty friends...You can link them up here...oh and thank you to the lovelies who have linked up on my facebook page!!!!

  1. I adore that skirt! So bright and beautiful.
Good luck with your project. can't wait to see the final result. I once helped my brother-in-law restain a thrifted crib... Yeah. No bueno. takes forever to to dry, and for the love of God, DO NOT touch the stain! Unless of course you want colorful fingers, then by all mean touch away. I gave up after about an hour (I blamed my "fear of commitment"), lol. Long live your dedication to your sis's bday gift!

    Jess. :)

  3. I agree we are turning a dresser into a sink / vanity. It is sooo much more work than I expected!
